On November 28, 1959, President Ho Chi Minh launched the Tree Planting Festival. Since then, the Tree Planting Festival has become a widespread mass movement, a beautiful tradition of our nation. Responding to Uncle Ho's call, every time Tet comes, Nghe An Department of Transport organizes the Tree Planting Festival on other routes in the province.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, all leaders and staff of the Department of Transport and contractors and regular maintenance managers planted over 200 black star trees with a diameter of 5cm and height of 2m - 2.5m on National Highway 7C (Km17+00 - Km18+00) in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district.
This is a vital traffic route that effectively serves the economic, social and national security development of the province.

According to Deputy Director General of Vietnam Road Administration Phan Thi Thu Hien, through research and analysis of a number of traffic accidents when vehicles crashed through guardrails onto negative slopes.
Therefore, if there are rows of trees with reasonable diameter and height, it can form a natural guardrail system, helping to minimize damage to people and vehicles.

The Department of Transport requests that contractors who manage and regularly maintain national highways actively respond to the movement, combining the work of clearing the roadside, cutting grass along both sides of the route with tree care and protection so that the movement "Tet tree planting, following Uncle Ho's teachings, improving road traffic safety" will become a typical activity of the Nghe An Transport sector. This is an action to carry out Uncle Ho's teaching "Spring is the season for planting trees, making the country more and more springy", towards the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2020) of Nghe An Department of Transport.
