Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh - Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said that during Tet, although there were no major outbreaks, there were 5 new outbreaks in 5 communes of 3 districts in the province: Nghi Truong (Nghi Loc); Quynh Xuan, Quynh Lien (Hoang Mai town); Dien Cat, Dien Loc, Dien Kim (Dien Chau). Although each outbreak only involved 1-2 pigs, it showed that the virus still existed in the population.

“The weather is complicated, while people have just slaughtered a lot of pigs for Tet, so after Tet, the disease can break out very high. Households that are raising pigs need to use lime powder and disinfectant chemicals to spray and sprinkle inside and outside the barn area.”

Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh - Deputy Head of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, as of January 31, 2020, in Nghe An, there were 368 communes with African swine fever, of which 350 communes declared the end of the epidemic.
