The gang of thieves was caught along with 2 motorbikes and nearly 100 million VND.
(Baonghean.vn) - Three individuals who stole property from people's homes during and leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) have been apprehended by the Quỳnh Lưu District Police, along with two motorbikes and 97 million VND.
On February 10th, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police announced that they had successfully cracked Case 120T, combating property theft in the area and arresting three members of the gang.
Accordingly, in the period leading up to the Lunar New Year, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police continuously received reports from residents about property theft. Many houses were broken into, with valuable items such as phones, motorbikes, and cash stolen. This situation caused public concern and anxiety, affecting local security and order, especially with the Tet holiday approaching. Determined to quickly stabilize the security situation and ensure that people could celebrate Tet and welcome the New Year safely, the District Police established Special Case VA120T to combat property theft.

After several days of intensive investigation, the special task force successfully dismantled a property theft ring, arresting three suspects: Le Thi Hao (born in 1981), residing in Hong Long hamlet, Quynh Hong commune; Dau Van Long (born in 1996), residing in Hamlet 4, Quynh Tan commune; and Van Tien Dung (born in 2000), residing in Hamlet 8, Quynh Thach commune, Quynh Luu district. The police seized two motorcycles and 97 million VND, the proceeds from the thefts.
Through investigation, the investigating agency clarified that on January 23rd (the 28th day of the Lunar New Year), Le Thi Hao broke into the house of Dang Dinh H. in Quynh Hong commune and stole a phone and other assets worth over 21 million VND. Dau Van Long broke into the house of Hoang Van Th. in Quynh Luong commune and stole the victim's motorbike parked in the yard. Van Tien Dung also broke into a house and stole over 90 million VND.

Specifically, Dau Van Long had a prior conviction for theft. In 2015, he was sentenced to 9 months in prison for theft. After his release, Long moved to Hanoi. There, he resumed his old criminal activities and was arrested by the Hanoi police. In May 2017, he was sentenced to 12 months in prison by the Thanh Xuan District People's Court in Hanoi for the same crime. After his second release, Long became even more brazen, frequently associating with gamblers in the area and engaging in debauchery.
Currently, the Quỳnh Lưu District Police have completed the procedures and initiated criminal proceedings against three individuals, Đậu Văn Long, Văn Tiến Dũng, and Lê Thị Hảo, for the crime of theft.
