The race in the US heats up on 'Super Tuesday'.
(Baonghean.vn) - Today (March 3rd), "Super Tuesday" will take place in the United States. This is an important traditional day when 15 US states and territories will hold elections through caucuses or ballots.
The states holding elections today include: California, Texas, Virginia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Vermont, Colorado, Utah, North Carolina, and Maine, along with the territory of American Samoa.
Just before Election Day, two candidates, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, announced their withdrawal from the race and endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden. CNN commented that these two candidates' withdrawals before "Super Tuesday" were seen as a good opportunity for Biden to overtake Senator Bernie Sanders in today's competition.

According to USA Today, there are currently five candidates remaining in the race: former Vice President Joe Biden, billionaire Bloomberg, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Senator Bernie Sanders, and Senator Elizabeth Warren. Approximately one-third of the required delegates will be determined after this "Super Tuesday," as 1,357 delegates are participating in the voting today.
And that, if a candidate can secure at least 1,991 votes out of a total of 3,979 before the Democratic National Convention on July 13th, that candidate will become the party's final choice. This is why billionaire Bloomberg bet on "Super Tuesday," overlooking Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina last week.
Analyzing the strengths of the candidates, Reuters suggests that Joe Biden, with his victory in South Carolina, will gain momentum in states with large African American voter populations such as Iowa and New Hampshire today. However, according to CNN, Biden still faces a challenge from billionaire Michael Bloomberg, as many American voters are hoping the Democratic Party will nominate a moderate figure.
