Patient 92: A student returning from France infected with nCoV

A 21-year-old man, returning to Ho Chi Minh City from France via Qatar on March 17, tested positive for nCoV, and is patient number 92.

This person has a residential address in Ward 9, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, on March 16, the patient traveled from Paris to Doha on flight QR40, seat 29; then took flight QR970, seat 18D, to Tan Son Nhat on March 17.

Upon entry, the patient had no symptoms and was quarantined in District 12. He later developed a fever, sore throat, and dry cough and was transferred to Cu Chi Field Hospital. The sample was tested twice and the results were positive.

This is the 9th Covid-19 patient related to France.

As of the afternoon of March 21, Vietnam recorded 92 Covid-19 patients, of which 17 have recovered, including 16 cases recovered since last month, one discharged on March 20. The cases mainly entered from Europe and the US, then spread to the community. 15 provinces and cities recorded Covid-19 patients. Most of the patients' health is stable, the two severe cases are both over 60 years old and have underlying diseases. There are 5 patients who tested negative at least once.

Ho Chi Minh City currently has 18 patients under treatment, second only to Hanoi with 27. Both cities have had to expand the number of quarantine areas to accommodate the increasing number of people returning from abroad.
