In a fit of rage, Bui Van Ninh killed his son who was born with a mental disability.

According to the verdict of the People's Court of Hoa Binh province, at around 10:30 a.m. on July 2, 2019, Bui Van Ninh (born in 1961, in Kim Boi district) bought alcohol to drink and eat with his family.

With some alcohol in his system, Ninh went to sleep and woke up around 12:30. At this time, the defendant felt angry because his wife had scolded him for losing the shovel.

Ninh went out to the yard and saw his son with a congenital mental disability, Bui Van Nga (born in 1994), sitting next to the well.

Already angry, seeing that her disabled son had reached adulthood but could not help the family with anything and could not take care of himself, Ninh had the idea of killing her son.

The cruel father went to the pile of firewood near the kitchen, took a wooden stick and hit Nga 3 or 4 times on the head and nape, causing her to bleed profusely.

Being beaten by his father, Nga crawled into the house, trying to scream but her voice was not clear. Ninh threw down the stick, picked up a brick and hit his son on the head. At this time, Nga crawled into the house.

Witnessing the horrifying scene, Ninh's youngest daughter called out to the neighbors. She was taken to the emergency room by everyone, and on July 9, 2019, Nga died. The forensic examination concluded that the victim died of a traumatic brain injury.

After committing the crime, Ninh went to Kim Boi district police to surrender.

Brought to trial for "Murder", Ninh admitted to the crime as charged in the indictment. Given the last word, the guilty father expressed remorse and asked the jury to give him the lowest sentence.

The victim's family representative filed a petition to reduce the defendant's sentence and requested that Ninh be given the lowest possible sentence, so that the defendant has a chance to start his life over.

The verdict stated that the defendant's actions were particularly serious. The defendant should have loved Nga because the victim was born with disabilities, but the defendant killed his own child, causing disorder in the locality, and was condemned by public opinion, contrary to common morality...

The panel of judges found it necessary to impose a severe penalty commensurate with the nature and consequences of the defendant's actions, so they sentenced Ninh to life in prison for "Murder".
