The Dien Kim bridge is in serious disrepair.
(Baonghean.vn) - As a vital bridge connecting the two communes of Dien Bich and Dien Kim (Dien Chau district), this bridge has seriously deteriorated in recent years, causing worry and anxiety among the local people.
This is a permanent reinforced concrete bridge with a width of 9m and a length of approximately 285m. The approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a total length of about 600m, constructed to the standards of a Class V road in a flat area, with a roadbed width of 7.5m; a road surface width of 5.5m, and reinforced shoulders of 0.5m on each side using the same structure as the road surface.

The total investment for the project is 125 billion VND, including 19 billion VND from the central government budget, sourced from the contingency fund of the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2016-2020.
In addition, the provincial budget for the period 2021-2025 (including targeted supplementary central government budget funds for localities, and local budget balance funds based on principles, criteria, and allocation norms for development investment capital for the period 2021-2025 for Dien Chau district) is 81 billion VND. The district budget and other legally mobilized capital sources amount to 25 billion VND.
The current Dien Kim Bridge was built in 1997, measuring over 100m in length and 3m in width. It underwent repairs and upgrades in 2016, but is now deteriorating.
Therefore, the construction of the new Dien Kim bridge will contribute to completing the transportation network system, meeting the travel and trade needs of people in the region and neighboring areas, facilitating investment attraction, connecting key economic zones, and promoting the strengths of the marine economy.
The new bridge also serves rescue and relief efforts during the rainy and stormy season; ensures the implementation of the economic development plan of Dien Chau district and the surrounding area, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, and strengthening security and national defense.
