Discovering someone struggling in a fish pond, Captain Minh immediately stopped the car, jumped in and swam out to help the victim to shore.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thinh, the unit only learned about the incident when people sent letters of thanks to the unit. In the letter, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hung (residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city) said that on the afternoon of May 15, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bao (who was hired by Mr. Hung to work at his family's fish pond) drowned while casting a net to catch fish.
At that time, Captain Nguyen Van Minh was on his way to carry out a mission assigned by his unit. When he arrived at Hamlet 7, Nghi Phu Commune, he heard a cry for help. Discovering someone struggling in a fish pond, Captain Minh immediately stopped the car, jumped in and swam out to help the victim to shore. Although he had drunk a lot of water, thanks to being rescued in time, Bao's life was not affected.
