A local resident who was drowning was rescued by a police captain in Nghe An province.
(Baonghean.vn) - While on duty assigned by his unit, upon reaching Hamlet 7, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City, Captain Nguyen Van Minh heard cries for help. Discovering someone struggling in a fish pond, Captain Minh immediately stopped his vehicle, jumped in, and swam out to rescue the victim.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Thinh, Head of the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police), said that the unit is proposing that the Director of the Provincial Police commend Captain Nguyen Van Minh for his courageous act of saving a person from drowning.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thinh, the unit only learned about the incident when residents sent a letter to express their gratitude. In the letter, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hung (residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City) stated that on the afternoon of May 15, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bao (whom Mr. Hung had hired to work at his family's fish pond) drowned while casting his net to catch fish.
At that time, Captain Nguyen Van Minh was on duty assigned by his unit. Upon reaching Hamlet 7, Nghi Phu Commune, he heard cries for help. Discovering someone struggling in a fish pond, Captain Minh immediately stopped his vehicle, jumped in, and swam out to rescue the victim. Although he swallowed a lot of water, thanks to the timely rescue, Mr. Bao's life was not in danger.
It is known that Captain Nguyen Van Minh (born in 1982, from Thanh Phong commune, Thanh Chuong district) is currently an officer of Team 3, Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police).
