Veteran actor from the films 'Running Away from Justice' and 'Provincial Party Secretary' has passed away.

Meritorious Artist Khoi Nguyen passed away at his home in Ha Dong (Hanoi) at 4 am. His family shared that he passed away peacefully because in his final days, he was able to see his children and loved ones.

Over a month ago, Meritorious Artist Khoi Nguyen suffered from a persistent cough that didn't go away with medication, and also had a high fever, so his family took him for a check-up and discovered he had late-stage pancreatic cancer.

Meritorious Artist Khoi Nguyen was born in 1943 and began his career in 1959. He joined the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage and made a living from his passion, creating many acclaimed plays of that era.

Having dedicated nearly half his life to cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera), Meritorious Artist Khôi Nguyên knows many plays and characters by heart. He even dreams about the characters he plays in his sleep. Upon waking, he tells himself that he will perform his roles even better and will pass on his knowledge to younger artists.

In 2000, artist Khoi Nguyen began his career in television dramas, at which time he was over 50 years old. Meritorious Artist Khoi Nguyen has participated in many multi-episode television series. The first television series in which he played a leading role was...Uncle Cả was a happy man.In just five episodes, Meritorious Artist Khoi Nguyen created a remarkable character, one that many people remember by face and name.
