National Training on the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard

(Baonghean.vn) - The training course aims to equip leading officials from central and local ministries, departments, and agencies with basic knowledge of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law and its implementing regulations and guidelines.

On the morning of September 18th, the Ministry of National Defence held a nationwide online training conference on the Law.Vietnam Coast GuardThe event was held at 74 locations nationwide, chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Minister of National Defense.

Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the meeting at the Nghe An branch. Also present was Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command.

This training course aims to equip leading officials from central and local ministries, departments, and agencies with fundamental knowledge of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law and its implementing regulations and guidelines; serving as a basis for the synchronized, unified, and effective implementation of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law nationwide.

The Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard was passed by the 14th National Assembly on November 19, 2018, and came into effect on July 1, 2019. The enactment of this law has significant political importance and is of particular significance in enforcing maritime law. It reflects the concentrated will of the Party and State, the aspirations of the people, and is a strong declaration of the determination to protect national interests and uphold peaceful means in accordance with international law.


According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard has created an important legal framework to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and administration through law in the fields of national defense, security, management and protection of the country's seas and islands, and law enforcement activities, national security protection, and maritime order and safety by specialized forces.

At the same time, it contributes to creating high consensus and a strong shift in social awareness among all levels, sectors, agencies, units, functional forces, and organizations and individuals regarding the position, functions, tasks, and powers of the Vietnam Coast Guard; it is an important basis for building the Vietnam Coast Guard to be "revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern" to meet the requirements of the mission in the new situation.

At the training session, delegates were introduced by the Institute of National Defence Strategy and the Vietnam Coast Guard Command to the policies, guidelines, and viewpoints of the Party and State on management and protection.the sea and islands of our homelandOne of the key points emphasized at the training conference was the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, which defines the Vietnam Coast Guard as a functional force of the State, serving as the core force for enforcing maritime law. This demonstrates Vietnam's responsibility as a member of the international community, respecting and complying with international law, especially international treaties to which Vietnam is a party, and its determination to build a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and developing maritime region.
