According to assessments, the growth rate in the first nine months of the year was lower than the same period last year due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The growth rate of the province's gross regional product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 3.44% compared to the same period last year; budget revenue up to the end of September reached VND 11,594 billion, achieving 76.2% of the projected target.

Regarding the last three months of the year, the Provincial Party Secretary noted that all sectors and levels should thoroughly review all work contents and set targets, and emphasized the obstacles and difficulties that need to be focused on and resolved, in order to develop countermeasures and solutions for each sector, field, and locality.

Nghe An province began implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in 2019, with 48 products achieving 3-4 stars. The OCOP program is implemented throughout rural areas of the province and the country; localities are encouraged to adapt the program to their specific conditions in urban areas, aiming to develop production and business models that produce traditional products and services with competitive advantages, meeting standards and enabling them to compete in the market.

During initial questioning at the investigative agency, suspect Nguyen Khac Trung confessed to purchasing the drugs from a Lao national in the border area between Dong Van and Thong Thu communes and was on his way to Ha Tinh to sell them when he was arrested.
