Nghe An: Highlights of October 17th

*Psinging performanceOpening of the CongressOn behalf of the Presidium, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the Congress has a very important task, focusing on successfully completing four contents: reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, accurately assessing achievements, strengths, weaknesses, and identifying causes, especially subjective causes; drawing lessons learned; and clearly defining the goals, directions, tasks, and specific solutions for the 2020-2025 term in the fields of economy, society, foreign affairs, national defense, security, and Party building, and building the political system.

In addition, the Congress continued to discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 12th Central Committee of the Party submitted to the 13th National Congress of the Party; selected and elected the 19th Provincial Party Committee; and elected the delegation to attend the 13th National Congress of the Party.

At the Congress, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - presented a summary of the Political Report to the 19th Congress.

Accordingly, during the 2015-2020 term, the Provincial Party Committee led and directed all levels of government, organizations within the political system, and the people to unite and strive to achieve important results.

The economy has developed quite rapidly and comprehensively, in a sustainable direction, creating a favorable foundation for the next phase. The GRDP growth rate is quite high, averaging 7.20%. GRDP per capita is estimated to reach VND 44.01 million by the end of 2020, a 1.5-fold increase compared to 2015.

The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction. Annual budget revenue consistently meets and exceeds the assigned targets. Total social investment capital for the period 2016-2020 is estimated at over 314,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 1.7 times compared to the previous term…

The Prime Minister emphasized that, deeply imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, the 19th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee needs to frankly acknowledge that, despite achieving encouraging results, it has not yet fulfilled President Ho Chi Minh's aspirations for the province's Party Committee and people to become one of the prosperous provinces in the North. Therefore, this Congress must demonstrate the highest level of determination to achieve President Ho Chi Minh's aspirations. Accordingly, the Prime Minister outlined and suggested key tasks and solutions, both immediate and long-term, for the next term and the following years, which the Party Committee and people of the entire province need to focus on implementing. "Nghe An must create a miracle on the Lam River that the whole country is waiting for. This is the noble mission of the Party Committee, government, and people of the province," the Prime Minister stressed.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the delegates attending the Congress to wisely choose and elect the new Provincial Party Committee and the delegation to the 13th National Congress of the Party, representing the intellect, will, and aspirations of the Provincial Party Committee.

The Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, 19th term, 2020-2025, has 66 members (including 1 member transferred from the Central Committee). Compared to the 2015-2020 term, the number of members of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, 19th term, 2020-2025, decreased by 5 members, equivalent to 7%. Of these, 64 members were elected at the Congress (2 vacancies remain).
