Nghe An: Highlights on October 17

*PsingOpening of the Congress, on behalf of the Presidium, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Congress has a very important task, focusing on completing 4 contents including: Reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, correctly assessing achievements, advantages, shortcomings, finding causes, especially subjective causes; drawing lessons; at the same time clearly defining the goals, directions, tasks, and specific solutions for the 2020 - 2025 term in the fields of: economy, society, foreign affairs, national defense, security and Party building, building the political system.

Along with that, the Congress continued to discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 12th Party Central Committee to be submitted to the 13th National Congress of the Party; selected and elected the 19th Provincial Party Executive Committee; and elected the Delegation to attend the 13th National Congress of the Party.

At the Congress, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee briefly presented the Political Report to the 19th Congress.

Accordingly, in the 2015 - 2020 term, the Provincial Party Committee has led and directed all levels of government, organizations in the political system and the people to unite and strive to achieve important results.

The economy has developed quite rapidly, comprehensively, and sustainably, creating a favorable foundation for the coming period. The GRDP growth rate is quite high, reaching an average of 7.20%. The average GRDP per capita by the end of 2020 is estimated at 44.01 million VND, an increase of 1.5 times compared to 2015.

The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction. Annual budget revenue always meets and exceeds the assigned estimate. Total social investment capital in the 2016-2020 period is estimated at more than 314,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 1.7 times compared to the previous term...

The Prime Minister emphasized that, taking Uncle Ho's teachings to heart, the 19th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee should frankly point out that, although it has achieved encouraging results, it has not yet fulfilled Uncle Ho's wish for the Party Committee and people of the province to become one of the better provinces in the North. Therefore, this Congress must set the highest determination to fulfill Uncle Ho's wish. Accordingly, the Prime Minister has oriented and suggested key tasks and solutions that are both immediate and long-term in the coming term and the following years for the Party Committee and people of the whole province to pay attention to and focus on implementing. "Nghe An must create a miracle of the Lam River that the whole country expects. This is the noble mission of the Party Committee, government and people of the province" - the Prime Minister emphasized.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that the delegates attending the Congress wisely choose to elect the new Provincial Party Executive Committee and the delegation to the 13th National Party Congress representing the Party's intelligence, will and aspirations.

*BAt the afternoon session, on behalf of the Presidium, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy presided over the election. The Provincial Party Secretary expressed his belief that the Congress would wisely choose.elect the new Party Executive CommitteePromote the tradition of solidarity, democracy, innovation and creativity to lead the successful implementation of the Congress Resolution for the 2020 - 2025 term.

The Executive Committee of the 19th Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, has 66 members (including 1 additional member transferred by the Central Committee). Compared to the 2015 - 2020 term, the number of members of the Executive Committee of the 19th Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025 decreased by 5 members, equivalent to 7%. Of which, the Congress elected 64 members (2 vacancies).

The congress approved a list of 73 comrades toelect 64 comradesto the Provincial Party Executive Committee, term XIX, 2020-2025.
