On October 17th, the Dong Phu District Police in Binh Phuoc Province announced that they had issued an indictment and a temporary detention order against Dinh Xuan Huu (24 years old, residing in Cho Hamlet, Tan Tien Commune, Dong Phu District) to investigate the crime of "Illegal possession and use of narcotics".weaponsmilitary equipment.

According to the investigating agency, Dinh Xuan Huu lent money to Nguyen Van Thi (27 years old, also residing in Tan Tien commune), but Thi did not repay the debt and intended to default on the loan.
To settle the debt, Huu arranged to meet Thi at a rubber plantation in Tan Tien commune to talk things out. When Thi arrived at the meeting point, he brought along several friends.

At the police station, Huu confessed to buying the gun and six bullets through social media. Subsequent examination confirmed the gun to be a military weapon.
