*SOctober 20, in the programvisit and work in Nghe An, The delegation of the Indian Embassy led by Mr. Pranay Verma - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam paid a courtesy visit to the provincial leaders.
Working with the Indian Embassy delegation, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Pranay Verma and his wife, the delegation to visit and work with the province, and at the same time informed the delegation about some main features of the natural conditions, socio-economic situation of the province, the relationship and cooperation between the province and Indian partners. Comrade Thai Thanh Quy also proposed that the Ambassador and the Indian Embassy help connect with Indian businesses to learn about and invest in Nghe An.
Mr. Pranay Verma - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam expressed his pleasure to visit Nghe An - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh. In the historical process of the two countries, the relationship between the two founding fathers, President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Nehru, opened the way for the establishment of relations and laid a solid foundation, creating momentum to continuously consolidate and expand the traditional friendship between Vietnam and India and the two countries have established a comprehensive strategic partnership.

*TPreviously, on the afternoon of October 19, in Hanoi, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with AEON MALL Vietnam Company, Mitsubishi Corporation Vietnam Company, JICA and JETRO Japan topromote activitiesFDI investment, ODA aid in Nghe An province.
To date, the province has attracted 10 Japanese investment projects with a total capital of 113 million USD in the fields of limestone mining, food, garment, etc. Japan has funded 44 programs and projects for Nghe An, with a total of more than 5,000 billion VND (equivalent to 217.5 million USD). In the coming time, JICA and JETRO will continue to support Nghe An province in the field of agriculture, organize training courses, send Japanese experts to work, and organize investment promotion activities in Vietnam and Japan.

*SOn the morning of October 20, at Nghi Loc District Martyrs Cemetery, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, together with representatives of sectors, localities and a large number of peopleattend the funeralMartyr Nguyen Tien Dung (born in 1979). Before his death, Lieutenant Colonel Dung was Deputy Head of the Operations Department, General Staff of Military Region 4.
“Dung is a man who is devoted to his wife and children, both paternal and maternal sides, and gets along well with the neighbors. He is busy with work, so whenever he has time, he comes home to share the difficulties with his wife, because her health is not good. To his homeland, Dung always shows a sense of responsibility, during difficult times, even when studying in Russia, he saves money to send back to support the construction of welfare projects,” said Mr. Le Van Truong (74 years old), father-in-law of martyr Dung, at the ceremony.

*COn the afternoon of October 20, in response to the call of the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Office of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee launched a campaign for all cadres and civil servants of the Office of the Provincial Party Committeesupport, sharewith the people of the Central provinces affected by floods. With that spirit, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders, cadres and civil servants of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Office have donated 45,150,000 VND to support the people of the Central provinces affected by floods.
Also on the same day, many units and localities in Nghe An organized donations to support people in the Central region affected by floods and storms.

*NIn order to share the difficulties with people in the Central provinces that are suffering from floods, along with the material donation movement, many localities in the province haveorganize wrapping and cooking banh chung, banh tet to send to people in flood areas.
The image of pots of banh chung and banh tet cooked on wood stoves, glowing brightly at night in localities, from the mountains to the plains, not only shows the spirit of solidarity and friendliness of the people but also warms the hearts of people in flood-hit areas.

*TIn the developments related to floods, on the morning of October 20, the Lam River rose, hundreds of households in Hung Nguyen (Nghe An) were isolated. According to the authorities of Chau Nhan commune (Hung Nguyen), the water level of the Lam River rose nearly 4 meters higher than when the hydropower plants had not yet discharged floodwaters. Hundreds of households in hamlets outside the dike were affected. The district alsoplan for resettlementif the water continues to rise.

*SOctober 20, in Hanoi, 10th Session,The 14th National Assembly opens. At this session, the National Assembly will work for 19 days (excluding holidays); the session will be conducted in 2 phases. Specifically, phase 1 will be an online meeting via videoconference from the National Assembly House to the connecting points at the National Assembly delegations of provinces and centrally-run cities (from October 20-27).
Phase 2, meeting at the National Assembly House (from November 2-17). Notable contents include discussion and comments on documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress, and deciding on the election date for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the next term.
