Warning of the risk of the river 'swallowing' villages in 3 communes along the Lam River

(Baonghean.vn) - Nearly 100 houses in Tam Son, Cam Son, and Anh Son communes are at risk of being swallowed by the "river god" after the circulation of storm No. 9. People here are restless every time the flood rises, the Lam River fiercely "swallows" deep into the village land.

Mr. Bui Xuan Hoa in hamlet 1 of Tam Son commune said: During the recent flood, the garden soil was washed down to Lam river about 15 meters, including a large bamboo bush in the village that is now under the river. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Giang - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Anh Son district said: The whole district of Anh Son has more than 40 km of Lam River passing through. Currently, Tam Son and Cam Son communes have about 100 households at risk of their houses collapsing into Lam River due to riverbank erosion. During the recent storm season, the district had to evacuate more than 30 households along the banks of Lam River to a safe place.
