According to the investigation, on the afternoon of December 7, Thanh was driving a motorbike carrying his girlfriend on Bui Ngoc Thu Street, Tuong Binh Hiep Ward, Thu Dau Mot City. While driving, he suddenly turned the motorbike around to cross the street without looking.

At that time, two 10th grade students from Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School were riding an electric bike and crashed into Thanh's car. The sudden collision also caused another woman on a motorbike to crash straight into her and fall over.

Thanh quickly walked towards the female student, repeatedly kicking and stomping on the 15-year-old girl's head and face. Then, he pulled out a three-section stick and beat and cursed the victim. He only stopped when people tried to stop him. Some witnesses expressed their indignation, and Thanh threatened them before taking his girlfriend away from the scene.

When the video of the incident was posted online, many angry people went to the suspect's residence and took him to the local police. At the investigation agency, Thanh admitted his actions, saying that he had "drank too much alcohol" beforehand.

The examination results determined that the female student had a long laceration on her head, requiring 10 stitches, and a 1% disability. The victim’s family has filed a petition to prosecute the case and the person who beat their child.
