(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 25, at the large hall of the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi, 1,587 delegates attending the 13th National Congress of the Party (13th Congress) held a preparatory session.

The Congress elected a Presidium consisting of 17 Politburo members and comrade Tran Thanh Man, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Congress elected a Secretariat consisting of 5 comrades and a Congress Delegate Qualification Examination Committee consisting of 13 comrades.
The Congress voted in favor of, and unanimously approved, the Report on the verification of the qualifications of delegates to the 13th Party Congress presented by the Delegate Qualifications Verification Committee. Accordingly, all 1,587 delegates summoned to attend the Congress are qualified to be delegates to the Congress.

On the morning of January 26, the 13th National Party Congress will officially open solemnly at the hall. According to the announcement of the Congress Organizing Committee, the 13th National Party Congress will take place from January 25 to February 2. The Congress has 1,587 delegates attending, the most in 13 Congresses.
The delegation of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee attending the 13th National Party Congress was elected by the 19th Provincial Party Congress, including 29 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates. Along with that, the Politburo assigned 4 Central Party Committee members to participate in the delegation.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development", the 13th Congress discussed and approved: Political Report at the 13th National Party Congress; Summary Report on the implementation of the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2011 - 2020), building the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2021 - 2030).
The Congress will also discuss and approve the Report on the assessment of the results of the implementation of the 5-year socio-economic development tasks (2016-2020) and the directions and tasks for the 5-year socio-economic development (2021-2025); the Report summarizing the Party building work and the implementation of the Party Charter during the 12th Congress term; and the Report on reviewing the leadership and direction of the 12th Party Central Committee (submitted to the 13th Congress).
