Former SLNA striker says goodbye to Hai Phong, looking for a new destination

Striker Viet Nguyen was born in 1995 in Vinh City, joined SLNA in 2007 after the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament. Along with players like Van Khanh,Tuan Tai, Viet Nguyen became a mainstay of the U19 SLNA team at the 2014 National U19 Finals.

That year, Viet Nguyen was the main striker of U19 SLNA, contributing greatly to helping the team reach the final. That excellent performance helped this striker be called up to the Vietnam U19 team along with two teammates Van Duc and Tuan Tai.

Viet Nguyen is a special player of SLNA because he was an excellent student for many years and had time to maintain his studies at the Faculty of Business Administration - Vinh University and football. However, after being promoted to the first team at V.League 2016, Viet Nguyen decided to leave the university to continue pursuing his football career.

Possessing a height of 1m83, an ideal and rare physique of a domestic striker, but injuries are always a haunting obsession for the former U19 Vietnam player. After 3 years of only getting used to the bench at SLNA,Viet Nguyen joined Hai Phong Club from V.League 2019But the number of matches he played for the port city team could be counted on one hand, scoring only 1 goal.

At the end of the 2020 season, Viet Nguyen is not in the plans of Hai Phong Club. Currently, the clubs in the First Division and V.League have all finalized their squad numbers, he is looking for opportunities at Vinh Phuc Club in the Second Division with the hope of maintaining his form.
