A century-old traditional rice paper making village in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Trung Yen hamlet – Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau district) has 32 households producing rice paper; of which 17 households produce rice paper for spring rolls and 15 households produce dry rice paper (sesame rice paper).

| Traditional rice crackers (sesame rice crackers) in Trung Yen hamlet are handcrafted. | The process of making and collecting spring roll wrappers is arduous and very urgent. If the sun is strong and the wrappers start to crackle on the drying rack, they must be quickly collected to prevent them from becoming brittle and tearing; if it starts to rain, the people drying the wrappers have to "run for their lives" to collect them to prevent them from getting wet. | The rice paper making profession in Trung Yen has contributed to poverty alleviation and legitimate wealth creation. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa said: For every 100 kg of rice used as raw material for making rice paper, after deducting expenses, a profit of 900,000 to 1,000,000 VND is earned. |
