"I just had an accident and broke my leg, so I can't move around. So, in the upcoming election, can I ask a relative to write and cast my ballot for me?"

That is the question asked by Ms. Le Thanh Lan in Ho Chi Minh City.

On this issue, the National Election Council responded as follows:

Article 69 ofLaw on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People's CouncilsRegulations: Voters are not allowed to ask others to vote on their behalf, vote on their behalf, or vote by mail. In case the voter is unable to write the ballot himself, he may ask someone else to write it for him, but he must put the ballot in the ballot box himself; the person who writes the ballot must ensure the secrecy of the voter's ballot. In case the voter is disabled and cannot vote by himself, he may ask someone else to put the ballot in the ballot box.

In case a voter is sick, old, or disabled and cannot go to the polling station, the Election Team will bring the ballot box and ballot to the voter's residence or place of treatment so that the voter can receive the ballot and vote.
