Successfully detonated a 113 kg bomb
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 5, at Dong Ho training ground, hamlet 2, Minh Chau commune, Dien Chau district, the Engineering force, the Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Dien Chau district Military Command to successfully detonate a 113 kg bomb.
Previously, when the tide was low, fishermen discovered a rusty bomb with faded markings at Lach Van Fishing Port, Dien Ngoc Commune, Dien Chau District. This was a bomb left over from the war dropped by the US.

Received information,Provincial Military CommandDirect the Engineering Department to directly coordinate and guide the Dien Chau District Military Command to organize zoning, put up warning signs in bomb-affected areas, and inform the people in the area about the situation. Mobilize the police and militia of Dien Ngoc commune to organize 24/7 guarding and protect the safety of the bomb-affected areas.

Approaching the bomb, the Provincial Military Command's Engineering Department determined that this was a demolition bomb with a diameter of 25 cm, a length of 110 cm, and a weight of 113 kg (equivalent to 250 pounds). The Provincial Military Command's Engineering Department coordinated with the Dien Chau District Military Command, along with local Party committees and authorities to develop a plan and move the bomb away from residential areas, to a detonation site that ensured absolute safety for people and equipment.
