Successfully detonated a 113 kg bomb.
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 5th, at the Dong Ho training ground, Hamlet 2, Minh Chau commune, Dien Chau district, the Engineering Corps of the Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Dien Chau District Military Command, successfully detonated a 113 kg bomb.
Earlier, when the tide receded, fishermen discovered a rusty, faded bomb at Lach Van fishing port, Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district. This was a bomb left over from the war, dropped by the US.

Upon receiving the information,Provincial Military CommandThe Engineering Corps was directed to directly coordinate and guide the Dien Chau District Military Command to cordon off and place warning signs around the bomb area, and inform the local population about the situation. Police and militia forces from Dien Ngoc commune were deployed to guard the bomb area 24/7, ensuring its safety.

Upon examining the bomb, the Engineering Corps of the Provincial Military Command determined it to be a demolition bomb with a diameter of 25 cm, a length of 110 cm, and a weight of 113 kg (equivalent to 250 pounds). The Engineering Corps of the Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Dien Chau District Military Command and local Party committees and authorities, developed a plan to move the bomb away from residential areas to a safe detonation site, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.
