General Phung Quang Thanh passed away.

According to the Central Committee for the Protection and Care of Cadres' Health, General Phung Quang Thanh, born in 1949, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense, after a period of illness, despite the Party, State, professors and doctors' devoted treatment, and the wholehearted care of his family, due to serious illness and poor health, he passed away at 3:45 a.m. on September 11, 2021 at his private home at No. 10, Lane 9, Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City. General Phung Quang Thanh is a general who matured through combat. His military career is a shining example of heroic and resilient fighting spirit, will and determination to rise up.
