Nghe An Provincial Trade Union: Positive signs from a competition
(Baonghean.vn) - The competition "Trade Union officials of Nghe An province learn about the Resolution on reforming the organization and activities of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation" has been receiving attention and participation from the entire Nghe An Trade Union system.
Based on feedback from the first week of the competition, the positive impact of this contest is evident.
THE NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
Just one week after its launch, the competition"Officials of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union study the Resolution on reforming the organization and activities of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation."The competition achieved truly impressive results, far exceeding the initial expectations of the Organizing Committee. According to the Organizing Committee's report, the total number of participants in the first week was 13,168 (including a small number of union members), with most contestants participating in two or more rounds; 100% of district, city, and town trade union units, industry trade unions, and affiliated grassroots trade unions had union officials participating in the competition, notably the Education and Health sectors, and the Con Cuong, Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, and Hoang Mai district labor federations, achieving a participation rate of over 90% of their union officials.

The multiple-choice format with four judging criteria (correct answer, accurate prediction, earliest attempt, fastest response) and the method of shuffling the order of questions and options made the competition extremely exciting and engaging. Among the winners in the first week, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan (Anh Son 3 High School) was considered a particularly special contestant with a total of 3,848 attempts.
Explaining this impressive number, Ms. Ngan revealed: "I am a person who is passionate about..."online competition"I have experience participating in and winning awards in many competitions from the central to local levels. For me, it's a very effective and enjoyable way to learn. In this competition, I highly appreciate the way the organizers chose the format and criteria; it was so genuine and engaging that I used all my free time to participate. Once I understood all the answers, I tried to overcome my own limitations by completing the test as quickly as possible."

Although she didn't win the top prize, Ms. Ngan completed the test in just 25-30 seconds per attempt. Her secret was that before participating in the competition, she downloaded Resolution 02 on trade union reform, read it carefully, and memorized it thoroughly.
Besides the appeal of the competition itself, the way it was implemented by various levels of trade unions also played a crucial role in its widespread impact. At the Do Luong District Labor Union, the competition "Trade Union Officials of Nghe An Province Learn About the Resolution on Reforming the Organization and Activities of the Vietnam Trade Union in the New Situation" was not only conducted through written documents, grassroots trade union groups on Zalo, and Facebook shares, but also directly during a training session on trade union work. Because the training session of the District Labor Union took place after the competition was launched, all participating trade union officials had the opportunity to compete against each other on stage via a link to see who could provide the fastest and most accurate answers. The lively atmosphere and engaging content made the competition a true race between contestants and grassroots trade unions.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Thuy, Chairwoman of the Do Luong District Labor Union, shared: “Implementing the competition in the early days was quite challenging. Because some union officials were elderly and not familiar with IT, we had to create a detailed and specific guide with images for participation. In addition, the District Labor Union continuously reviewed the results of the top 50 to promptly provide rewards, encouragement, and support to participating units.” The innovative approach of the Do Luong District Labor Union has also been actively implemented by many higher-level grassroots labor unions.
Ms. Thuy also expressed her wish that in the following weeks of the competition, the Provincial Labor Union would add supplementary prizes for contestants who answer correctly and fastest (without considering the prediction criteria) in order to recognize union officials with the most solid and reliable knowledge about union reform.
