(Baonghean.vn) - It is expected that by December 31, 2021, the entire province will have 300 out of 411 communes meeting the new rural standards, with 26 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards; 2 communes meeting the model new rural standards; and 7 district-level units completing the tasks/meeting the new rural standards.

(Baonghean.vn) - Reporting at the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that the risk of a widespread outbreak in the province is very high, while resources for disease prevention and control are increasingly limited.
At the November 2021 thematic meeting of the Provincial People's Committee, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development presented the Draft Report on the results of implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development in 2021 and the plan for implementation in 2022.
By the end of 2020, 280 out of 411 communes in the province had met the standards for new rural areas, accounting for nearly 68.13%. Two communes were recognized as achieving advanced new rural area standards, with an average rural income of 34.44 million VND/person/year. Six district-level units completed the task/met the new rural area standards: Vinh City, Thai Hoa Town, Hoang Mai Town, and the districts of Yen Thanh, Nam Dan, and Nghi Loc.

Mr. Nguyen Van De, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, emphasized that entering 2021, Nghe An province is implementing the new rural development program under extremely difficult conditions. These include complex weather patterns, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. The central government's development investment budget for 2021 has not yet been allocated. The communes registering to achieve new rural development standards in 2021 are mainly those in mountainous districts.
According to the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, it is projected that by December 31, 2021, 300 out of 411 communes in the province will have met the standards for new rural areas, an increase of 20 communes compared to 2020, achieving the target set by the Provincial People's Council Resolution. In addition, 26 communes will have met the standards for advanced new rural areas; 2 communes will have met the standards for model new rural areas; and 7 district-level units will have completed their tasks/met the standards for new rural areas.
The average income in rural areas is projected to reach 34.5 million VND/person/year by the end of 2021. 213 products have been recognized under the OCOP program. The total capital mobilized in 2021 was 12,445,289 million VND.

Regarding the three pilot communes for building model new rural areas, Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu district) has been recognized as a model new rural commune; Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan district) is completing its dossier for submission to the province for appraisal; and Son Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district)It has met all 19/19 criteria for advanced rural development and has been assessed by the province.
Regarding the results of implementing the project to build Nam Dan district into a model new rural district, Mr. Nguyen Van De said that the new rural criteria at the commune and district levels have been consolidated and improved; 18 out of 18 communes have maintained their status as new rural communes, and one commune has been recognized as achieving advanced new rural commune standards.
The material and spiritual lives of the people in Nam Dan district have been significantly improved, and the rural landscape and environment have seen many positive changes. Over the past three years, Nam Dan district has mobilized 1,986.6 billion VND to implement the contents of the Project.
Implementing the One Commune One Product Program (OCOP Program) for the period 2018-2020, the province now has 113 recognized OCOP products, including 26 products achieving 4 stars and 82 products achieving 3 stars. It is expected that by the end of 2021, an additional 100 products will be evaluated and classified as OCOP products.

Mr. Nguyen Van De said that by the end of 2022, the province aims to have an additional 10 communes meeting the new rural standards, raising the total number of communes meeting the standards to 310 out of 411 communes, equivalent to 75.42% of the total number of communes in the province. Additionally, 22 more communes will achieve advanced new rural standards, raising the total number of communes meeting advanced new rural standards to 48 out of 310 communes, equivalent to 15.48%.
Four more communes have achieved the model new rural standard, bringing the total number of model new rural communes in the province to seven. Two more districts have achieved the new rural standard, raising the total number of district-level units to nine. The average income in rural areas is expected to reach 35.5 million VND/person/year by the end of 2021.
