Berlin's rejection of Nord Stream 2 will turn Germany and the whole of Europe into a "colony" of the United States, according to expert Elena Panina, Director of the Institute for International Economic and Political Strategies.

The reaction to Russia's recognition of the DPR and LPR was predictable and at the same time another clear manifestation of the immaturity of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as a politician, - Panina noted.

"However, if Zelensky's actions were not something new in his image and were predictable, then the steps taken by European leaders have significantly changed our view of them. Instead of talking about principled but reasonable objections, as before, today we see that these politicians are completely destroying the economic sovereignty of Europe, turning the continent into an American colony," the expert noted. The decision of Chancellor Scholz - to freeze the certification of Nord Stream-2 - will lead to such a scene, the expert said.

"In the context of skyrocketing gas prices, this move is like a blow to the German people's wallets. Because according to economists' calculations, increasing gas exports by even 20% will double the price of "green fuel" in Germany. Now, Germany and the whole of Europe are turning into a colonial market for American liquefied natural gas (LNG)," she emphasized.

"The sanctions against Russia are actually a cover for the US to start looting the European economy, first of all Germany. The scenario that experts have been discussing for a long time, as we see, has created new opportunities for the US economy, in fact, "breathing life into" the American economy, which is in danger of being hit by difficulties and unusually high inflation. And the Europeans will be turned into a new type of slaves, forced to serve the US hegemony," - concluded expert Panina.
The situation in Donbass has become increasingly tense in recent days, with both the DPR and LPR reporting numerous shellings by the Ukrainian army in the area. The leadership of the DPR and LPR announced the temporary evacuation of citizens to the Rostov region of the Russian Federation due to the risk of Ukrainian forces entering the two regions. The first to be evacuated are women, children and the elderly. According to data from the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy will soon order the army to launch an attack on Donbass to carry out the plan to invade the DPR and LPR./.
