A farmer in Bac Thanh commune said: "My family cultivates 3 sao (approximately 0.3 hectares) of rice. Thanks to proper care and favorable weather, the rice plants have large ears and firm grains. However, the heavy rains in the past few days have flattened many rice fields. We will only mobilize manpower to re-erect the rice after the water recedes."

Mr. Le Van Hong, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Yen Thanh district, said: This spring, Yen Thanh district planted over 12,000 hectares of rice.
