Quynh Thang commune (Quynh Luu district) receives certificate recognizing it as a new rural commune.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 15th, Quynh Thang commune (Quynh Luu district) held a ceremony to celebrate its achievement of the new rural standard, and the Secondary School received the National Standard Level 1 Certificate and the Certificate recognizing the incense processing and production village in Hamlet 2 as a traditional craft village.

Quynh Thang is a mountainous commune in Zone II, located in the Northwest of Quynh Luu District. After 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the local area has undergone a comprehensive transformation. The commune's technical infrastructure and socio-economic infrastructure have been invested in and improved synchronously, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and serving the production and lives of the people. The total investment in new rural development in the commune is over 476 billion VND; of which, the people contributed over 279 billion VND in funds, donated land, facilities, trees, and invested in house renovations...

The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction, with an average economic growth rate of over 8.7%, per capita income reaching 37.75 million VND/year, and the poverty rate at only 2.5%; 3 out of 4 schools in the area meet national standards; 12 out of 14 villages meet cultural standards; the rate of culturally exemplary families reaches 97.5%; political security, social order and safety are maintained, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are improved. The Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations have achieved the title of clean, strong and outstanding advanced.
The Party Committee, government, and people of Quynh Thang commune strive to achieve advanced new rural standards by 2025; average economic growth rate of 9-9.5%; and average per capita income of 62-63 million VND/year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ho Phi Trieu highly appreciated the results that Quynh Thang commune has achieved in implementing the National Target Program on building new rural areas. He requested the Party Committee, government, and people of Quynh Thang commune to continue to take advantage of resources along with people's contributions to further invest in the rural road system and build and upgrade other infrastructure projects.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the application of scientific and technological advancements in production; promote the restructuring of the agricultural economy, especially the structure of crops and livestock, in order to create linkages between businesses, cooperatives and people in production to increase product value; pay attention to propaganda, promotion and finding markets for local agricultural products...

At the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ho Phi Trieu presented the Certificate of Recognition for achieving the New Rural Standard to Quynh Thang commune and awarded 500 million VND to the commune for the construction of welfare facilities; he also presented the Certificate of Recognition for achieving National Standard Level 1 to the Secondary School and the Certificate of Recognition for the Traditional Craft Village of Processing Raw Materials and Producing Incense in Hamlet 2, Quynh Thang commune.

Also at the ceremony, the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 4 individuals; the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 8 individuals; and the People's Committee of the commune awarded Certificates of Merit to 14 collectives and 20 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the process of building new rural areas.
