(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2022 high school graduation exam, class 12C of Dang Thuc Hua High School had 14 students who scored 27 points or higher in the humanities/social sciences (Block C), a remarkable achievement for a rural school in Thanh Chuong district.

After learning their exam results, both teachers and students of class 12C at Dang Thuc Hua High School were overjoyed. Out of 47 students in the class, 46 achieved scores of 21 or higher in the C-block subjects (Literature, History, Geography), including 26 students with 25 points, 14 with 27 points, 8 with 28 points or higher, and two students with the highest scores of 28.75. Of the six perfect scores (10/10) in History achieved by the entire school, four were from class 12C (Nguyen Van Cuong, Pham Van Duc, Ha Thi Thanh, and Le Thi Quy).

It is known that all students in class 12C are children of farmers, many of whom come from extremely difficult family circumstances. The class's entry level from grade 10 was quite low, with about one-third not intending to take the university entrance exam due to their difficult family situation. Many students felt discouraged upon realizing that the humanities/social sciences (Block C) offered limited career options.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, homeroom teacher of class 12C, shared: "During their studies, we teachers, both homeroom teachers and subject teachers, especially Ms. Nguyen Thi Van teaching Literature and Mr. Nguyen Gia Thu teaching History, have strived to encourage, motivate, and guide the students, so they have become more determined. From grade 11 onwards, they have shown significant improvement. The first achievement was that the provincial excellent student team won 100% of their prizes, including 10 students who achieved excellent student status, 2 first prizes in Literature and Geography, 7 students who won second and third prizes, and 1 consolation prize..."

Entering 12th grade, many students set clear goals for university admission and strived their best. With such enthusiastic learning spirit, many students from other classes and grades requested to transfer to 12C. Some students who had previously been in other grades achieved very high scores, such as Pham Van Duc (28.75), Pham Thi Hieu (28.25), and Le Thi Quy (28.25)...

In particular, Nguyen Van Cuong, despite his poor health, still achieved excellent student status at the provincial level in all three subjects (First prize in Geography, First prize in Literature, and Second prize in History). In the high school graduation exam, Cuong was still the valedictorian of his class with 28.75 points. In addition, students such as Ha Thi Thanh, Phan Thi Minh Thao, Nguyen Hong Hanh, and Nguyen Thi Truong all scored above 28 points in the humanities/social sciences group.

Pham Xuan Anh, who scored 27.25 points and won second prize in Geography at the provincial level, has had the honor of joining the Party.

"As a homeroom teacher for three consecutive years, I am very proud of and admire these students. They have overcome difficult circumstances and strived their best to achieve high results," said Ms. Tam.

In this year's high school graduation exam, the achievements of class 12C, Dang Thuc Hua High School, are quite outstanding for a rural school.

Regarding this, Mr. Le Khac Thai - Vice Principal of the school, said: Class 12C is a united group; the students always strive in their studies and have a high spirit of self-discipline and self-learning. Despite a special school year, taking place under complex pandemic conditions and requiring a lot of online learning, the students have achieved remarkable results.

This achievement once again affirms the efforts of the staff, teachers, and students in overcoming difficulties during the teaching and learning process, and is a continuation and development of the school's long history of achievements.
