Murder after the sound of the exhaust
Angry at the provocative sound of exhaust pipes, two groups of teenagers chased and slashed each other on the streets of Da Lat, leaving one person dead.

According to the investigation, at 1am on August 3, Hoang drove Tam on a motorbike on Nguyen Van Cu Street, Ward 1, Da Lat City. They encountered a group of 17-year-old Bui Hong Cong, who were going out for a late-night snack. The two teenagers' motorbikes revved their engines. Thinking that the two boys were provoking them, Cong's group of 3 also revved their engines in response.
An argument broke out and two teenagers chased and beat Cong and his friend. Cong abandoned his motorbike and ran on foot. Tam took a knife and slashed Cong and his friend to death on the spot, then fled with Hoang to Duc Trong district.
Cong was taken to the emergency room by local people but did not survive, his friend was seriously injured.

During the investigation, detectives arrested Hoang and Tam a day after committing the crime. A quick test result showed that Tam tested positive for marijuana.
