Murder behind the exhaust sound
Angry at the provocative sound of exhaust pipes, two groups of teenagers chased each other on the streets of Da Lat, killing one person.

According to the investigation, at 1:00 a.m. on August 3, Hoang drove Tam on a motorbike on Nguyen Van Cu Street, Ward 1, Da Lat City. They encountered a group of 17-year-old Bui Hong Cong, who were having a late-night snack. The two teenagers revved their engines. Thinking that the two boys were provoking them, Cong's group of 3 also revved their engines in response.
An argument broke out and two teenagers chased and beat Cong and his friend. Cong abandoned his motorbike and ran away on foot. Tam took a knife and slashed Cong and his friend to death on the spot, then fled with Hoang to Duc Trong district.
Cong was taken to the emergency room by locals but did not survive, his friend was seriously injured.

During the investigation, detectives arrested Hoang and Tam a day after committing the crime. Rapid test results showed that Tam tested positive for marijuana.
