(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 5th, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, led by Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao - Standing Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, held a working meeting with the Nghean Provincial Women's Union.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Women's Union, and Vice Presidents Hoang Thi Thu Hien and Le Thi Huong Giang.
Many practical activities
Reporting to the delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the leaders of the Provincial Women's Union affirmed: With a spirit of innovation and creativity in implementing and organizing the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress, in addition to focusing on dissemination and propaganda, the Provincial Women's Union has developed an action program to put the resolution into practice with key tasks.
This includes caring for vulnerable women and children, "Accompanying women in border areas"; supporting women in starting businesses and developing the economy; promoting the role of women in building new rural areas; strengthening propaganda activities on gender equality and the work of female cadres; and building strong grassroots women's associations.
Accordingly, many movements and activities of the association continue to deepen. For example, the "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's" movement is linked to building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. The "Millions of Gifts Sharing Love" program, the "Tet for the Poor in the Year of the Tiger 2022" program, the "Building Shelters of Love" program, and the "Transforming Waste into Useful Things" program continue to be effectively implemented.
In particular, the "Godmother" program, launched by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, has been systematically implemented by the Provincial Women's Union based on surveys of target groups and resource mobilization. To date, 579 orphaned children in difficult circumstances in the province have received sponsorship.
The Provincial Women's Union has also focused on developing two projects: "Propagating, mobilizing, and supporting women in building OCOP products; promoting and connecting the consumption of goods to contribute to local economic development in the period 2022-2027"; and "Propagating, mobilizing, and supporting women to participate in sorting and processing waste at source and limiting the use of plastic bags in Nghe An province in the period 2022-2027," which have been submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.

Regarding the role of supporting women's entrepreneurship under the Prime Minister's Decree No. 939, the Provincial Women's Union has identified this as a breakthrough in its term. Since the beginning of the year, the province has supported the establishment of 2 cooperatives; formed 20 cooperative groups; and assisted in connecting 5 cooperatives with access to loans.
Women's associations at all levels continue to proactively exploit new programs and projects, maintain the effectiveness of entrusted loan activities from the Social Policy Bank, and provide credit guarantees with the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank, in coordination with TYM organizations, creating opportunities for members to access capital for economic development; at the same time, strengthening training to improve capacity, transfer scientific and technical knowledge, and manage the use of capital for members and women.

Since the beginning of the year, women's associations at all levels have mobilized and supported 484 members with ideas to participate in the "Women's Entrepreneurship" competitions organized by district/city/town women's associations. Of these, 169 women started businesses in the form of household businesses with registered business licenses, and 65 women established new businesses. Support was also provided to 123 ideas to connect them with funding sources totaling 6,350 million VND. The Provincial Women's Union also launched the 2022 Women's Entrepreneurship competition, and 45 ideas have participated.
Focus on implementing the new points of the resolution.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, acknowledged and highly appreciated the systematic and decisive implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress, with many activities, emulation movements, and creative and practical initiatives.
