On the afternoon of August 25, at several large fishing ports in Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai town... (Nghe An), many boats were anchored. The scene of seafood trading was bustling in the rainy weather.
While unloading each tray of seafood from the ship's hold to shore, fisherman Ho Duc Tao in Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, owner of a fishing boat with a capacity of over 700 CV, said that he was on the 6th day of fishing, catching about 16 tons of fish when he received news that storm No. 3 was entering the East Sea, so he and his crew moved the boat back to the mainland to ensure safety. Although the seafood caught on this trip was mainly mackerel, herring, anchovies... with low value, the yield was good so he still earned over 200 million VND, not only enough to cover expenses but also making a profit.

"If there were no storm, we would have had to extend our fishing time by another 3-4 days before returning, thenseafood productionwill be more, because the fishing grounds are favorable at this time. Previous trips were profitable," fisherman Ho Duc Tao shared.
Fisherman Tran Van Dac in Quynh Long commune added that the fishing grounds were favorable when the storm hit, forcing the boat to return to port. Fortunately, the boat caught more than 10 tons of various types of fish, which was enough to cover expenses. After the storm passed, the crew members returned to sea immediately without taking a long break.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dong - manager of Lach Quen fishing port said: From the afternoon of August 24, fishermen started to return to avoid storm No. 3. On August 25, 15 large capacity ships from 500 CV or more anchored at the port, in addition, there were a number of smaller capacity ships anchored in other channels.
"Although they came to avoid the storm, most of the ships had been away for 5 days or more, so each ship achieved a yield of 4-5 tons of fish or more, many ships had over 10 tons of seafood. Due to the impact of the storm,storm number 3"It is expected that in the next few days, the number of ships returning to port will increase," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Dong.

In Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town), fishermen have also returned to avoid the storm these days. Mr. Phan Van Hai - Chairman of Quynh Lap commune's Fisheries Association said that because the storm moved northward, bordering China, many fishing boats in the commune fishing in the inner sea continued to fish, or took shelter in other fishing ports. Fishing boats in the outer sea proactively returned to shore safely today, August 25.
According to information from the Department of Fisheries, by 3:00 p.m. on August 25, ship owners in the province had grasped the direction of storm No. 3 to proactively prevent and minimize damage. Accordingly, the number of ships anchored at safe ports was 2,539 vehicles/11,626 workers; the number of ships operating in the sea areas was 809 vehicles/4,251 workers.
