Top 10 most popular supercars on the Internet
A new study in the UK reveals that the Audi R8 is the most searched supercar on Google search.
In an effort to find out which performance cars are the most popular globally, Confused.com analyzed Google search data over the past 12 months. From their research, they found that the Audi R8 was searched for 22.53 million times, despite being released in 2006 and now out of production.

The Audi R8 is closely followed by the Lamborghini Urus with 20.06 million searches, despite being a high-performance SUV rather than a traditional supercar. The popularity of the Urus has set the stage for the success of the product line, showing Lamborghini's smartness in entering the SUV segment.

Taking third place on the list is the BMW i8 with 18.43 million Google searches, ahead of the Toyota Supra (17.26 million), Ford Mustang (16.65 million), Nissan GT-R (15.54 million), Porsche 911 (15.48 million), Lamborghini Aventador (11.555 million), Bugatti Chiron (10.98 million) and Lamborghini Huracan (8.4 million).

Unsurprisingly, Lamborghini proved to be the most popular performance car manufacturer with over 58 million searches for the brand. This far outpaced BMW with 26.7 million searches and Ferrari with 25.3 million searches annually on Google. Other popular brands included Porsche (25.1 million), Audi (22.9 million), Nissan (22.8 million), Ford (22.3 million), McLaren (21.7 million), Bugatti (17.4 million) and Toyota with 17.2 searches.
