(Baonghean.vn) - On September 22, with the forecast that the province will have moderate to heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain and thunderstorms, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 177/VP-PCTT, directing proactive response work.
According to the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of September 22 to September 25, 2022, due to the influence ofcontinental cold highis strengthened, combined with the activity of the tropical convergence zone with an axis through the Central Central region, tending to lift the axis to the North; the subtropical high pressure encroaches to the West and gradually becomes stronger, so the Nghe An area will experience moderate to heavy rain, some places have very heavy rain and widespread thunderstorms. The total rainfall is likely to reach: 150-250mm, some places higher. It is forecasted that there is a possibility of another heavy rain from September 27 to 29.

To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rain, whirlwinds, lightning, the risk of flash floods, landslides and inundation that may occur, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts, cities, towns and related agencies and units to implement a number of contents:
Closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins, promptly provide information to authorities at all levels, investors with projects under construction along the river, on the river and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage. At the same time, immediately check and review residential areas, agency headquarters, workplaces, resolutely relocate and evacuate people, vehicles and assets from dangerous areas, especially areas withlandslide risk,Flash floods, inundation to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and state property.
Be ready to deploy measures to drain water and protect production; prevent flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas to ensure minimal damage.
In addition, organize inspections, reviews, and prepare plans to ensure the safety of mines, mines, dike systems, reservoirs, and downstream areas, especially works under construction or damaged or degraded. Proactively develop plans for safe operation of dams, especially weak dams and dams that are full of water.
