Landslides continue to threaten many households in Ky Son.
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the devastating flash flood that occurred in the early morning of October 2nd, hundreds of people in Ky Son district are facing hardship. Currently, along with recovery efforts, the people are also facing the worry of landslides that could collapse onto their villages at any time.
Due to the impact of continuous heavy rain over the past few days, the house of Mr. Dinh Nho Thanh in Hoa Son village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, has developed many large cracks in its walls. According to Mr. Thanh, not only the house walls, but also the road running in front of his house is increasingly showing cracks over 60 meters long, caused by soil pushing down from the hill, putting the entire residential area at risk of collapsing at any time. To ensure safety, Mr. Thanh's family has evacuated to stay with relatives in the village.

It's not just Mr. Thanh's family; many other households in the village are facing a similar situation.
Mr. Vi Van Truyen, head of Hoa Son village in Ta Ca commune, shared: "Although located quite high up and far from the Huoi Giang stream – where a devastating flash flood recently occurred – many households along the road to Tay Son commune, in the Hoa Son village area, face the worry of landslides. The mountain range behind the village has developed many large, long cracks, and many houses have even been split in half due to subsidence and fractures."

Mr. Vi Van Truyen further shared: "Immediately after discovering large cracks on the mountaintop behind the village and along the road within the village, the village management board relocated the households to live with those who were still safe in the village."
Due to heavy rains from the beginning of September until now, the hills and mountains are saturated with water, leading to landslides and fault lines, especially in the town of Muong Xen and the villages of Hoa Son, Binh Son, and Son Ha in Ta Ca commune..
According to statistics from the Ky Son District People's Committee, there are currently more than 200 houses in the entire district at risk of collapsing due to landslides, of which 36 houses need to be urgently relocated. In Hoa Son village, Ta Ca commune alone, there are 20 houses at risk of collapsing at any time.

In the future, thanks to the attention of the province and the central government, there will be a resettlement area with a long-term life for the people here."
