On October 18, 2022, Quy Hop District Police said that the unit was temporarily detaining Hoang Van Thang (born in 1974, residing in Cu Mon hamlet, Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province) for illegal possession of drugs.

Previously, on the evening of October 16, 2022, after synchronously using professional measures, the Criminal - Economic - Drug Police Team of Quy Hop District Police coordinated with Minh Hop Commune Police and Nghia Xuan Commune Police to arrest Hoang Van Thang red-handed when he was in possession of 22.7 grams of heroin and 400 synthetic drug pills (pink pills).

According to the investigation agency, Thang is a serious drug addict and has a previous conviction for drug use. To satisfy his addiction, Thang often goes to the border area to buy drugs to store for later use. At the same time, whenever he has an addiction, he often causes insecurity and disorder in the area. Therefore, when Thang was arrested, the people in his residence highly appreciated the police force.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Quy Hop District Police is completing procedures to handle the subject according to the provisions of law.
