(Baonghean.vn) - Due to a severe drug addiction, Hoang Van Thang frequently went to the border area to buy drugs for personal use. Thang was caught red-handed possessing both heroin and synthetic drugs.
On October 18, 2022, the Quy Hop District Police announced that they are currently holding Hoang Van Thang (born in 1974, residing in Cu Mon hamlet, Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province) under criminal detention for the illegal possession of narcotics.

Earlier, on the evening of October 16, 2022, after employing a combination of investigative measures, the Criminal, Economic, and Narcotics Police Team of Quy Hop District Police, in coordination with Minh Hop Commune Police and Nghia Xuan Commune Police, caught Hoang Van Thang red-handed while he was in possession of 22.7 grams of heroin and 400 tablets of synthetic drugs (methamphetamine).

According to the investigating agency, Thang is a heavy drug addict with one prior conviction related to drugs. To satisfy his addiction, Thang often went to the border area to buy drugs to store and use gradually. Furthermore, whenever he experienced withdrawal symptoms, he frequently caused disturbances and disrupted public order in the area. Therefore, when Thang was arrested, the local residents highly appreciated the police force's actions.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Quy Hop District Police is completing the procedures to prosecute the suspect according to the law.
