The case file shows that at around 5:30 p.m. on January 1, 2022, after drinking beer, Tran Hai Duong and a group of friends agreed to go sing karaoke in Nghi Thai commune, Nghi Loc district. Here, the group was arranged in a VIP room.

To get drugs for himself and everyone in the karaoke room, Duong went out to the hallway and met female employee Dang Thi Thuy Linh to ask her to buy a Ketamine "shirt".

Linh agreed and called Hoang Thi Ngoc Quyen to buy drugs for the customer. Quyen offered 1.3 million VND and asked to transfer the money first to her husband Nguyen Duc Quan's bank account.

At 10 p.m. that same day, Quyen brought the drugs to Linh. After receiving the drugs, Duong told another female employee, Dau Thi Chi, to prepare the drugs for use. Chi poured the drugs onto a ceramic plate, then used an ATM card to rub the Ketamine and drew a small line for everyone to use.

At 0:30 on January 2, 2022, Duong asked Linh to buy another Ke "shirt" for the group to "fly". Linh continued to contact Quyen to buy drugs.

This time, Quan - Quyen's husband brought the drugs to deliver to the customer. However, when Linh received the drugs, the police raided and discovered 11 subjects using drugs. Taking advantage of the time when Linh went to the toilet, she put the drugs in the toilet and flushed it.

At the trial, the defendants confessed and admitted their crimes. Defendant Duong admitted that he was the one who initiated the group of friends to go to karaoke and use drugs. Defendant Chi said that because she was a waitress, she “mixed the ke” for the customers to use.

The two defendants Quyen and Quan also admitted to selling drugs to the subjects. Quan stated that he had bought the drugs from another subject whose identity and address were unknown.

After considering the role of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Tran Hai Duong to 4 years and 6 months in prison, Dau Thi Chi to 2 years in prison, Nguyen Duc Quan to 7 years and 6 months in prison; Hoang Thi Ngoc Quyen and Dang Thi Thuy Linh each to 7 years in prison.
