Arrest of woman who led gambling ring with mother's help
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite having a previous conviction for gambling, Tran Thi Hien still "returned to her old ways" when she led a gambling ring in the form of lottery tickets in Do Luong district. Hien's assistant was none other than her own mother.

After a period of investigation, from December 18 to 21, 2022, Do Luong District Police broke up the case, arresting 06 subjects in a row for gambling. Including 04 subjects residing in Dang Son commune, Do Luong district: Tran Thi Hien (born in 1986); Do Thi Sau (born in 1965); Hoang Thi Nam (born in 1962); Nguyen Thi Phuong (born in 1976); and Nguyen Tat Manh (born in 1980), residing in Tan Son commune, Do Luong district; Nguyen Danh Thang (born in 1993), residing in Do Luong town.

The task force seized 10 mobile phones; 20 million VND in cash and many related documents. In the initial investigation, the task force proved that on December 15 and 16, 2022, the amount of money the subjects used for gambling was more than 120 million VND per day. Of the 06 subjects above, 03 subjects had previous convictions for gambling (in the form of lottery betting), including: Tran Thi Hien, Nguyen Tat Manh and Nguyen Danh Thang.
The leader of this group is Tran Thi Hien, residing in Dang Son commune, Do Luong district. Hien is assisted by Hoang Thi Nam - Hien's biological mother. Accordingly, Hoang Thi Nam uses social networking platforms such as Zalo, Messenger, Telegram to text and receive lottery and betting entries from players. At the end of the day, Nam transfers money and gambling data to Tran Thi Hien. Winning or losing depends on the results of the Northern lottery. Hien pays the winners the next day by bank transfer.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Do Luong District Police has decided to temporarily detain the subjects to continue expanding the investigation.
