The Department of Education and Training has just announced the structure of the entrance exam for grade 10 of Phan Boi Chau High School and Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School for the 2023-2024 school year.
According to the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee, the entrance exam forgrade 10This year's exam will be held on June 5 and 6, 2023 and will basically remain stable as previous exams with 3 subjects, of which Math and Literature will be tested in essay form with a duration of 120 minutes and Foreign Language (English or French) with a duration of 60 minutes and multiple choice with 50 questions.
This year, the exam requires 4 levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application. In which, recognition and understanding levels: 50% - 60% of the total score. Application and high application levels: 40% - 50% of the total score.

Regarding the exam structure, according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, the exam is within the scope of the Junior High School Program, mainly the 9th grade program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In addition, there are separate instructions for each subject. The test is guaranteed to be accurate, clear, educational, differentiated by student level, and appropriate to the time allotted for each subject.

For grade 9 programNo content testing is guided: Do not teach; Read more; Do not do; Do not perform; Do not require; Encourage students to read on their own; Encourage students to learn; Encourage students to do; Encourage students to do on their own according to Official Dispatch No. 3280/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated August 27, 2020.
For grade 8 programNo exam on guided content: Self-reading, self-studying, self-doing, self-performing, not required; content requiring students to practice and experiment according to Official Dispatch No. 4040/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated September 16, 2021.
For grade 7 programNo content testing is guided: Do not teach; Read more; Do not do; Do not perform; Do not require; Encourage students to read on their own; Encourage students to learn; Encourage students to do; Encourage students to do on their own according to Official Dispatch No. 3280/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated August 27, 2020.
For grade 6 programDo not test the instructed content: Do not teach/implement/do...; Encourage self-study (read/do/do...) according to Official Dispatch No. 1113/BGDĐTGDTrH dated March 30, 2020.
(For Literature, in addition to the above requirements, there will be no test on local curriculum or foreign literature).

The entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is scheduled to be held on June 8, 2023. According to the Department's instructions, the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, and Geography will be in essay form.
Meanwhile, for Computer Science: Programming directly on the computer using Pascal or C++ language (on DevC++, Code Block) to solve problems.
For English and French: Written test, including essay and multiple choice questions, testing 3 skills: listening, reading, writing and language knowledge.
The test time for each specialized subject is 150 minutes. The test requires 4 levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application and the points are distributed for the following levels: Recognition and understanding: 20% - 40% of the total score. Application and high application: 60% - 80% of the total score.
According to the instructions, the exam content is within the scope of the Junior High School Program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In addition, the exams will not test the content of the sections that are not taught, read more, not done, not implemented, not encouraged for students to read on their own... The exam questions must be accurate, clear, educational, and differentiated in order to select gifted and excellent students for specialized subjects, in accordance with the prescribed time for each exam subject.
