Nghe An province announces the structure of the 10th grade entrance exam.

The Department of Education and Training has just announced the structure of the entrance exam for 10th grade at Phan Boi Chau High School and Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School for the 2023-2024 academic year.

According to the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee, the entrance examination will be held.10th gradeThis year's exam will be held on June 5th and 6th, 2023, and will essentially remain the same as previous exams, consisting of three subjects: Mathematics and Literature (written essay format) with a time limit of 120 minutes, and a Foreign Language (English or French) exam with a time limit of 60 minutes and a multiple-choice format with 50 questions.

This year, the exam requires questions at all four levels: recognition, comprehension, application, and advanced application. Of these, recognition and comprehension account for 50% - 60% of the total score, while application and advanced application account for 40% - 50% of the total score.

Regarding the exam structure, according to the guidelines of the Department of Education and Training, the exam covers the content of the Junior High School curriculum, mainly focusing on the 9th grade curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition, each subject has its own specific instructions. The exam questions are guaranteed to be accurate, clear, educational, differentiate students' abilities, and fit within the time allotted for each subject.

For the 8th grade programThe following guided content is not included in the exam: Self-reading, self-study, self-doing, self-performing, no requirements; content requiring students to practice and experiment is in accordance with Official Letter No. 4040/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated September 16, 2021.

For the 7th grade programContent not covered in the exam: Not taught; Further reading; Not to be done; Not to be performed; Not required; Encourage students to read independently; Encourage students to learn; Encourage students to do; Encourage students to perform independently, as per Official Letter No. 3280/BGDĐT-GDTrH dated August 27, 2020.

For the 6th grade programContent not covered in the exam: Do not teach/perform/do…; Self-study (reading/doing/performing…) is encouraged, in accordance with Official Letter No. 1113/BGDĐTGDTrH dated March 30, 2020.

(For Literature, in addition to the above requirements, the exam will not include content from the local curriculum or foreign literature).

For the Foreign Language subject, not to be tested on the instructed content: Not to teach; Not to do; Read more according to Official Letter No. 5842/BGDĐT-VP dated September 1, 2011 of the Ministry of Education and Training on guiding the adjustment of teaching content in general education.

The entrance exam for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School is scheduled to be held on June 8, 2023. According to the Department's guidelines, the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, and Geography will be essay-based exams.

Meanwhile, for Computer Science: Programming directly on a computer using Pascal or C++ (on DevC++, Code Blocks) to solve problems.

For English and French: The exam is written, including essay and multiple-choice questions, testing three skills: listening, reading, and writing, as well as language knowledge.

The time allotted for each specialized subject is 150 minutes. The exam must include all four levels of difficulty: recognition, comprehension, application, and advanced application. Points are allocated as follows: Recognition and comprehension: 20% - 40% of the total score. Application and advanced application: 60% - 80% of the total score.

According to the guidelines, the exam content falls within the scope of the Junior High School Curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition, the exams will not include content that is not taught, not intended for further reading, not to be done, not to be performed, or not encouraged for students to read independently. The exam questions will be accurate, clear, educational, and differentiate between levels to select gifted and excellent students in their specialized subjects, while fitting within the time allotted for each subject.
