In which, the 100th Gold Medal was won by martial artist Ly Hong Phuc in the under 74 kg weight class of Taekwondo.

The Vietnamese male martial artist successfully changed the color of his medal after defeating his Thai opponent in the final of this event. This is also the first Gold Medal in the combat weight categories of Vietnamese Taekwondo at this year's SEA Games.

Previously, wrestler Nguyen Cong Manh brought home another Gold Medal for the Vietnamese wrestling team with a knockout victory over opponent Natal Apichai (Thailand) in the men's 72 kg classical wrestling category.

His two teammates, Bui Manh Hung and Ba Son, won Silver Medals in the men's 67 kg and men's 77 kg classical wrestling categories, respectively.

This achievement helps the Vietnamese delegation continue to stand firmly at the top of the overall rankings with 100 Gold Medals, 81 Silver Medals and 93 Bronze Medals, far surpassing the second-placed Thai delegation by 19 Gold Medals.

After playing in the first 3 matches of the group stage against U22 Laos, U22 Singapore and U22 Malaysia, Quoc Viet suffered an ankle sprain. Due to the severity of the injury, this striker is considered to have had to leave SEA Games 32 early.

Not yet over the sadness of losing the match against U22 Indonesia,U22 Vietnamcontinued to receive bad news when Thanh Nhan suffered a serious ankle injury after having to leave the field in the middle of the second half of the semi-final.

The doctor's initial diagnosis was that Thanh Nhan had a sprained ankle ligament and on May 14, the striker was taken for an MRI scan to determine the exact extent of the injury. It is almost certain that Thanh Nhan will not recover in time to participate in the Bronze Medal match on May 16.

With Quoc Viet and Thanh Nhan unable to play, coach Troussier only has two options for the striker position: Van Tung and Van Truong.

On May 14, coach Troussier let U22 Vietnam practice recovery at the hotel instead of going to the training ground, a practice that the French coach still maintains after each day of competition of U22 Vietnam.
