In the first 6 months of this year, although fuel prices are still high, aquatic resources are showing signs of decline, significantly affecting the exploitation efficiency of ship owners. However, many large-capacity fishing vessels in the districts of Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Hoang Mai town... have gone offshore to participate in aquatic exploitation by means of: trawling, seine, scooping, hooking... The main products are squid, mackerel, silver pomfret... Some vessels have exploited hairtail and tuna with high economic value.

High-yield fish such as anchovies and herring cost from 12,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; mackerel and silver pomfret cost 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg; mackerel and tuna cost the highest at 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg.

According to the Department of Fisheries, in the first 6 months of 2023, the output of marine seafood caught reached nearly 102,000 tons of various types of seafood, equal to 55.58% of the annual plan, equal to 103.59% compared to the same period last year. On average, the value of seafood collected is estimated at about 2,000 billion VND.

In addition, in the first 6 months, inland exploitation is estimated to reach more than 3,440 tons of aquatic products, worth an estimated 425 billion VND, equal to 68.92% of the yearly plan.
