Nghe An fishermen earn nearly 2,000 billion VND from seafood exploitation
(Baonghean.vn) - Nearly 104,000 tons of seafood is the output of Nghe An fishermen caught at sea in the first 6 months of 2023, with an estimated value of about 2,000 billion VND.

In the first 6 months of this year, although fuel prices are still high, aquatic resources are showing signs of decline, significantly affecting the exploitation efficiency of ship owners. However, many large-capacity fishing vessels in the districts of Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Hoang Mai town... have gone offshore to participate in aquatic exploitation by means of: trawling, seine, scooping, hooking... The main products are squid, mackerel, silver pomfret... Some vessels have exploited hairtail fish and tuna with high economic value.
High yield fish such as anchovies and herring cost from 12,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; mackerel and silver pomfret cost 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg; mackerel and tuna cost the highest at 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg.
According to the Department of Fisheries, in the first 6 months of 2023, the output of seafood caught at sea reached nearly 102,000 tons of various types of seafood, equal to 55.58% of the yearly plan, equal to 103.59% compared to the same period last year. On average, the value of seafood collected is estimated at about 2,000 billion VND.
In addition, in 6 months, inland exploitation is estimated to reach more than 3,440 tons of aquatic products, with an estimated value of 425 billion VND, equal to 68.92% of the yearly plan.

Nghe An currently has 3,469 fishing vessels, with a total capacity of 654,224 CV, of which 1,762 are fishing vessels over 15m. Over the years, Nghe An fishermen have invested in modern fishing support technology, such as upgrading lighting with LED lights, fish detectors, hydraulic winches... so the exploitation efficiency is increasingly high./.
