Lam Truong reveals huge salary during his heyday

He shared: “I loved singing so much that I came back and “persuaded” my mother to open a karaoke bar. When she bought it, I was the only one singing. Sometimes, customers saw that I could sing well so they invited me to sing together for fun. That was the turning point, a good condition for me to become a singer.”

Lam Truong added that a memorable milestone in his career was in 1996, when he signed an exclusive contract to record 200 songs for a music center. "I remember the contract value was 20 million for one year. That was a huge amount of money because a car at that time was only about 13 million. I received the money and immediately bought a Dream car because that was my big dream," he confided.

Lam Truong said that in the past, it was very difficult for the audience to get pictures of the artist. Many fans even cut out pictures of the male singer from magazines to hang on the wall, wardrobe... "I once went to a fan's house to visit. His mother pulled me up to show off a picture of me that he had hung right on his wardrobe. The picture was right next to my cheek, almost white, probably because I was kissed a lot," he said.

Sometimes I spent a lot of energy, but because I was so passionate, I didn't care about my health. Now that I have a family, I think I can't be selfish like that forever. Although I am very passionate, my love for music never fades, I have to know how to balance factors such as health, family and career."
