He shared: "I loved singing so much that I 'persuaded' my mother to open a karaoke bar. When we bought it, I was the one singing all the time. But then it really became a case of 'making money for nothing' because there were so many customers. My job was to operate the machine and choose songs for the customers. Sometimes, customers would see that I could sing well and invite me to sing along for fun. That was a turning point, a good opportunity for me to become a singer."

Lam Trường added that a memorable milestone in his career was in 1996, when he signed an exclusive contract to record 200 songs for a music center. “I remember the contract was worth 20 million VND a year. That was a huge amount of money because a motorbike at that time only cost around 13 million VND. After receiving the money, I immediately bought a Dream motorbike because it was my biggest dream,” he revealed.
Lam Trường recounted that in the past, it was very difficult for fans to get pictures of the artist. Many fans even cut out pictures of the male singer from magazines to hang on their walls, wardrobes, etc. "I once visited a fan's house.
