The suspect has been arrested by the police.

According to the police, Ha Van Liem, nicknamed "Liem Lap," is a drug addict considered "aggressive and notorious" in the area, with two previous convictions, and often carries a sharp knife at his side.

Despite being outraged because Liem's house was frequented by drug addicts, the surrounding residents were too afraid to report it.

According to the police, Liem meticulously designed his house, situated amidst tea hills in Hamlet 28, Dong Phong Ward, Lai Chau City, as a "fortress" with a single access road to easily monitor people entering and exiting; he installed security cameras around the house and, notably, kept 28 vicious dogs to deter the police.

The Lai Chau City Police, in coordination with the Drug Crime Investigation Department, developed a special operation to dismantle Liem's drug trafficking ring, which was causing significant problems in the community.

At 6 PM on July 21st, police secretly approached the house. Hearing the dogs barking, Liem tried to escape by running towards the tea plantation but was apprehended by the detectives. A search of the suspect's house yielded approximately 100 grams of a white powder (suspected to be drugs), along with 10 knives, swords, and nunchucks.

At the investigative agency, Liem admitted to his crime. The Lai Chau Provincial Police are continuing to expand the investigation.
